GENERAL INFORMATION
Happy Faces Playgroup is situated in the village of Clady. The new purpose built
Playgroup was opened in March 2007 and provides a high quality care and
education for 3 - 4year olds, covering the 6 areas of learning through a
pre-school curriculum as well as a safe enclosed outdoor area. The Playgroup
offers positions to both children from Northern lreland and
Donegal. The Playgroup is open 5 mornings a week
Monday to Friday from 9.30 am to 12 noon.
The Playgroup employs three full-time members of staff, all staff are qualified with
NVQ Level lll. Training is updated on a regular basis. The Playgroup has the
added assistance of an Early Years Specialist and is registered with Western
Health and Social Care Trust and is a member of Early Years the Organisation for Young Children.
An Open Day is held annually where all the children and their parents are
encouraged to attend to meet staff and view the extensive activities available.
ADMISSIONS CRITERIA
Children who are not normally resident in Northern lreland will not be considered for
places until all children who live in Northern lreland have been considered. The
Management Committee have determined that, in the event of there being more
applicants than places available the following criteria will be applied, in the
order set down, to select children for the available places,
Statutory Criteria
1. Children born between 2 July 2009 and 1 July 2010 whose
parent(s)/guardian(s) is/are in receipt of lncome-based Jobseekers allowance or lncome Support.
2. Children born between 2 July 2009 and l July 2010.
lf there are more children satisfying the last criterion, which can be applied,
then selection for the remaining places will be on the basis of:
Children who have previously attended and paid full fees in their penultimate year.
Children who had brothers or sisters that attended Happy Faces Playgroup previously.
Special Educational Needs.
Parents who are currently serving on the Management Committee.
ln the event of over-subscription in the last criterion which can be applied then selection for all places remaining in this category will be on the basis of the initial letter of the surname as per the birth certificate, in the order set out
below:-

The order was determined by randomised selection of letters of the alphabet. ln the
event of the surnames beginning with the same letter the subsequent letters of
the surnames will be used in alphabetical order. ln the event of two identical surnames
the alphabetical order of the initials of the forenames as per the birth certificate will be used.
